Experience: Michael has had 30+ years experience in senior real estate management, commencing in country New South Wales in agency and professional practice in addition to substantial periods in Sydney, some as a director of an International Real Estate organisation. Michael has a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the industry and owns motels as well as other property holdings.

Michael, for 3+ years, was the General Manager for Tallwood's Village, near Forster NSW, a $200 million residential golfing estate that encompassed Torrens, Strata and Community Title developments. During that time the Estate and development won a number of urban development Institute awards and other notations.

With considerable Tourism, Real Estate and Development experience, Michael has been further involved in developments in the Sydney CBD precinct, Kogarah, Blacktown, Parramatta, Chatswood, Orange, Bathurst Dubbo and numerous other locations throughout both NSW and QLD, where he lived and worked for a number of years.

Michael currently specialises in the creation and sale of Motels, manufactured Home estates, Caravan Parks, Management Rights and licensed premises as well as adding value to all forms of property. This is done either as a Consultant for example on the $50 million Kiama Blue Development, or the termination of Radisson and the installation of Sebel at Manly Beach, NSW. These skills compliment the more traditional roles as agent for a number of NSW, Australian and International vendors.

Having sold a number of Mortgagee and vendor Auction and controlled marketing properties, Michael has a very well rounded skill base. Michael's qualifications include; Licensed Real Estate, Strata Managing, Auctioneer, Stock and Station and Business Agent; Justice of the Peace (Registration Number 200102877); property Valuer (6194); Graduate Certificate in Commercial Property Management; Member Australian Institute of Business Brokers; Diploma of Retail Leasing; Member Australian Property Institute and Certificate Human Resource Management.

Open and Honest "... Our early searches were along the east coast then a business associate made a wise statement "Coast for show, inland for dough". After lots of late night discussions, we decided to put the emotion away and look at the return. After all, this was a business decision. Research showed Dubbo as a booming rural city. We contacted Mike Phipps Finance Brokers to be sure what our finances would allow and then contacted David Head from Tourism Brokers and outlined our requirements - Had to be more than 20 rooms (otherwise the balance of staff / you doing all the work gets tricky), had to be in Dubbo or surrounds, had to have good access for guests to have optimum experiences, preferably B&B, although restaurant was not out of the question, we wanted to purchase and settle before Christmas (this was September!) and of course, needed to be in our price range. David was heading o/s so Michael Philpott took over the search and arranged a group of inspections that fitted the bill. We inspected everything put forward with an open mind. Michael spent hours following us around, participating in discussions and stepping away when appropriate. He was open and honest and we felt confident in his professionalism. We met with city council personal, the tourism info staff and as many local as we could to get to a 'feel for the place'. Our experience everywhere we went in the area was positive, so with Michael as our guide and negotiator, he steered us through the process and we became the proud leaseholders of the Motor Inn in Dubbo.
